Poker has a long history in the United States and is one of the country’s most popular past times, but it sure is a pain trying to get some poker action these days.  Religious zealots and crooked politicians have done everything they can to stop Americans from exercising their right to play poker online.

The UIGEA gambling ban tried to restrict poker transactions at banks but failed miserably and now the state of Kentucky is trying to yank poker sites off the internet!  That’s right; a veteran judge by the name of Thomas Wingate ruled that poker domain names could be taken off the internet if they don’t block Kentucky citizens from accessing their websites.

The good news is this ruling didn’t last for all but a few weeks anyways, but it still caused quite a stir in the gambling world -even causing a handful of US-friendly gaming sites to jump ship from the states.   Can you imagine what kind of mess we’d be in if we allowed every state, city and county to impose their antiquated little laws on the entire internet?
